The Tolkien Tree is no more, but I have photos. When I travelled to England in 2013, my young son said that we should see the Tolkien Tree in Oxford. (We had read LOTR together) Do we really have time, I asked. He insisted! A year later, the tree was unable to support its branches. Time is today. We need to live the story of today. I understand that there have been seedlings taken from this tree and they are flourishing. “I am at home among trees.” J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring #trees #tolkien #time #resilience
Always fun to stop by @purebread_canada and meet up with the amazing team!
“The Homecoming” by sculptor, Morgan MacDonald, is a tribute and poignant reminder of Newfoundland’s war heroes. “They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.” Robert Laurence Binyon. #LestweForget #remembranceday #homecoming
A Visit to the Vancouver Art Gallery. The Cindy Sherman Retrospective. A profound testament to the courage and dedication of storytelling. “I want there to be hints of narrative everywhere in the image so that people can make up their own stories about them. But I don't want to have my own narrative and force it on to them.” Cindy Sherman
Learning to find my path, one step at a time. “If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it's not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That's why it's your path.” Joseph Campbell. #path #autumn #sunshine #resilience
