You are too kind! My painting talent is in my ability to admire and enjoy those who have been given the artistic gift. This was a photo of tulips that were in a sidewalk stand. I couldn’t resist stopping to capture the moment. Happy Valentine’s Day!!! Your visit is very much appreciated!

I agree wholeheartedly. There is so much to love that is cannot be contained within a 24 hour period, once a year. Love is forever!!!

Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”

Thank you Rebecca, What a wonderful quote from someone who had such a difficult life. So good to know that he understood and felt such truth and beauty in spite of his pain.. and could even see the glory of a chair !
(I can remember standing in front of it at the National Gallery in London when I was ten, and being blown away by the colour and the brightness of life in it.)

I often think of Vincent’s brother, Theo. How he recognized his bother’s genius and tried always to be there for him. It reminds me of the quote from J.R.R. Tolkien – an exchange between Frodo and Samwise. There are some people who have a more difficult road.

“But I have been too deeply hurt, Sam. I tried to save the Shire, and it has been saved, but not for me. It must often be so, Sam, when things are in danger: some one has to give them up, lose them, so that others may keep them.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King

One of my most favourite “love” movies! The first time I saw this movie was with a couple of girlfriends! We all cried….and cried…and cried. And then we went back to see it again….

Love it. When the roses wilt and the chocolate’s eaten and the valentine’s go on sale, it’s great to know there’s ways to love in all 364 days of the year that have nothing to do with cards and candy.

Thank you, my dear friend, for making this day a “Happy Heart” day! I am so glad that we reconnected. I agree – it seems that those who have known a dark road, have the greatest understanding of what love can do for the human spirit.

Good morning Rebecca! I just wanted to say hi and that I think of you often! We are trying to bury ourselves out of a snowstorm! 🙂 We also found out our honeybees didn’t make it through the winter so I have been harvesting the honey we had left for them. Let me know how you are when you have a chance!

I am absolutely delighted that you stopped by to let me know that all is well :), except for a snowstorm and the honeybees :(. This is our second day of sunshine after a long spell of rain which made me wonder if the animals were going to start looking for Noah’s Ark! The earth is waking up and I’m doing my spring dance!!!

Isn’t the sunshine wonderful!? It’s especially so after a long spell of rain. We had a day of rain that is now frozen. Our driveway is an iceskating rink now! 🙂 I’m looking forward to when the earth wakes up and I can do a spring dance! 🙂 Have a wonderful week!

How interesting you should say “especially after an awful day at work.” That is what prompted me to collect quotes in the fist place! Over the years, I would start my day with a quote so that I could dispel any negativity I would encounter during the day. Life is too short to fill a day with angst! Thanks so much for stopping by…

I just read your About and how the name clanmother came to be and looked all over for a place to comment there but came up empty so here I am back here. That was great writing and I love and agree with you about wisdom not just coming from aging but also children, and hey, wherever it comes from. What a beautiful scene you painted with your words about Scotland. Just wanted you to know I stopped by and enjoyed it a lot. Have a great weekend. Paulette 🙂
