Today, my thoughts went often to a place that I have only visited via a television travelogue – Japan. The news was full of pictures and updates on the tragic events unfolding before the cameras. The awesome power of the earth reminded me of our tenuous hold on life. Plans, so carefully made, cannot compete against destiny. Time that is given, must be treasured. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost their loved ones, their homes, their way of life.
